On August 13th I was a plus one for the a very special day. I day that would be officially proclaimed in West Hollywood as “Arcane day.”
As seen above this day was to celebrate not only Arcane’s representation of LBGTQ+ community in its series, more prominently between VI and Caitlyn, but also it representation of it’s rich diverse cast of characters through the series. As in Arcane uses it’s story telling and art to foster understanding and demonstrate the rich diversity of the human condition. As this is some of the core values of the series, West Hollywood too is a place where people from all walks of life can feel safe no matter how they choose to be represented.
The event was attended by plenty of people from the Riot, Netflix, press, influencers and cosplayers. We even saw Reed Shannon the voice of Ekko himself! This was a fun event filled with artwork from the show, props that seemed to be pulled right of the show, and Boba Bear serving up vials of shimmer for the guests.
All in all this was a fun event to commemorate a special day for not only West Hollywood, but Arcane fans throughout Hollywood.
